giant paper flowers for christmas decorations hello and welcome to deko kitchen today i will show you one of my favorite decorations i love all kinds of paper flowers and i use them for my christmas decorations or as wall decorations i made my flowers in red, dark red, cream white and some shades of grey in this video i like to show you two different paper flowers this paper flower i often use for light-coloured flowers
and this paper flower which looks like a poinsettia i love for christmas decorations for the red paper flower i use origami paper (approx. 14cm x 14cm) you will need 5-6 sheets of paper for the flower you have to fold 4 sheets of paper in half than i take two of the folded sheets and fold the open side of the sheets up to the edge turn the paper and fold the other side in the same way
now i have two edges like this to cut out the petal you have to hold the paper like this and cut it this way you can find a template how to cut the pedals on my website now you have 4 pedals for the paper flower we need 8 pedals so i do this step once again for the small pedals i take another sheet of paper
fold it in half again fold it in half and once again than i cut out the pedal like the pedals before now i have 4 pedals as we need 8 pedals i do this step once again for the base oft he flower i cut out a circle like this (about 8-10 cm diameter) put glue on it
and now i take the first big pedal and press it on the circle than i take the second pedal put it on the opposite and press it on the circle i repeat the procedure with the next 2 pedals than i put the next 4 pedals and stick them between the pedals which i have glued on the circle before that's what the flower looks like with the first 8 pedals now i go on with the 8 smaller pedals
in the same way that's the finished flower if you like you can stick some glitter balls in the middle of the flower now i show you how to make this paper flower for this paper flower i use cream white paper (size din a4) which is a little bit thicker you can also use copy paper
i fold the paper in half and than again now i cut out the pedals like this now i have 4 pedals for the paper flower i need 8 pedals when all the pedals are cutout i take one pedal and fold it like an ice cone and fix it with some adhesive tape that's what it looks like
you won’t see the tape when the flower is finished when i have folded all the pedals i take another circle made of paper about 8-10 cm diameter put glue onto it than i take the first paper cone and press it onto the circle than i take the second cone and put it aside the first cone
and so on until all the cones stick onto the circle during the glue dries i make the inner part of the flower i take another sheet of paper and cut it in two strips than you have to fold each strip like a leporello (about 1 cm height) when i finished the two leporellos i cut them in half
and stick them together now i have to cut a corner like a pike i won't cut more than 4 layers together now i stick both ends together to stick the leporello onto the flower i put glue onto the middle oft he shape wait a little bit until the glue is more sticky and stick the paper rosette on it
you have to press the paper rosette some minutes onto the shape if you don’t like to hold the paper until the glue has dried you can use a little vase or a ball to hold it in place that’s what my paper flower looks like i prefer the plain flower but if you like you can also stick a glitter ball onto it thank’s for watching my video! i hope you enjoyed it! with this flowers you will creat wonderful decorations
